You deserve straightforward answers about how a felony record impacts your ability to earn a CDL and secure a stable, high-paying career. Can I get my CDL if I have a felony conviction?
Yes. While a few very specific offenses might limit your ability to cross state lines or obtain hazmat endorsements, the vast majority of felony convictions will not prevent you from earning your CDL and finding stable employment. We assess your background upfront so you know exactly what your options are.
How does WIOA funding work for reentry?
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides federal grants specifically designed to help people cover job training costs. Returning citizens are often designated as a priority population. If eligible, this funding can cover the entire cost of your CDL program so you pay nothing out of pocket.
Will carriers actually hire me with a record?
Absolutely. The trucking industry is incredibly accommodating for returning citizens. We have established relationships with multiple "second-chance" trucking companies that actively recruit our graduates. We'll help you prepare for interviews and connect you directly with recruiters who value your training over your past.
What about the background check process?
Background checks are a standard part of the hiring process, but they are not automatic disqualifiers. Transparency is essential. During the program, we will coach you on how to discuss your record honestly and professionally with recruiters, turning a potential roadblock into a conversation about your commitment to a fresh start.
