How CDL training works at ACE
A clear sequence from your first question to your first employer conversation.
1. Attend free orientation
Every Thursday at 10:00 AM Central. Meet the team, review the pathway, and get honest answers before you commit to anything.
2. Review requirements and funding
We walk through documentation, permit steps, and funding sources that may be available for qualified students.
3. Classroom, range, and road instruction
Training is delivered at our licensed Birmingham location with classroom, range, and behind-the-wheel road instruction.
4. Credentialing and employer connection
After credentialing, ACE introduces graduates to hiring employers. Hiring decisions always belong to the employer.

Birmingham is the only ACE location where CDL instruction is delivered. Our Eutaw office serves Eutaw, Greene County, and Alabama's Black Belt as a workforce access point for information, orientation access, applications, and referrals — not as a training campus.

- Do you offer Class A and Class B CDL training?
- Yes. ACE CDL Driver Training Institute offers Class A and Class B commercial driver training pathways. The right class for you is reviewed during orientation.
- Is funding available for CDL training?
- Funding may be available for qualified students through programs such as WIOA and other workforce sources. Eligibility is required and is determined by the funding program, not by ACE.
- Can I train if I have a record?
- ACE works with people facing employment barriers, including justice-involved adults. Certain records, restrictions, or regulatory requirements may affect commercial driving eligibility, so each situation is reviewed individually.
- How do I get started?
- Reserve a seat at the free Thursday 10:00 AM orientation, or call 800-795-4217 and we will reserve it for you.
Enrollment and funding are subject to eligibility, screening, program requirements, and current availability. Funding may be available for those who qualify and is determined by the applicable funding program. ACE does not guarantee licensure, employment, or income.
