FAQ
Referral questions
- Who can submit a reentry referral?
- Probation and parole officers, reentry and recovery programs, workforce agencies, community organizations, and family members can all submit a referral.
- Does a referral guarantee enrollment?
- No. A referral starts a conversation. Training, funding, and housing are subject to eligibility, screening, program requirements, and current availability.
- Can someone with a felony record train for a CDL?
- ACE works with justice-involved adults. Certain records, restrictions, or regulatory requirements may affect commercial driving eligibility, so each situation is reviewed individually.
- Where does training take place?
- All CDL instruction is delivered at the licensed ACE training location in Birmingham, Alabama. Our Eutaw office serves Eutaw, Greene County, and Alabama's Black Belt as a workforce access point.
- Is transitional housing available?
- Healing Within Transitional Housing accepts inquiries and responds within about one business day. Placement depends on eligibility, screening, program fit, and availability.
Referrals do not establish eligibility for training, funding, housing, or employment. Funding may be available for those who qualify and is determined by the applicable funding program. ACE does not guarantee licensure, employment, or income.
